hermit crabs

can hermit crabs breed in a aquarium?? i have another question about them i seen a red hermit crab that was big enough for me too eat.it looked at least 10lbs. is it the same ones that they sell small??

I have seen a hermit crab at a LFS that is the size of a basketball. Man that thing is big.
The red hermits that most people add to there tanks are scarlet reef hermits and no they do not get that big.
