Hermit in urchin shell:

There has been a little sea urchin shell in my tank for a couple weeks now, I guess it fell out of the live rock. This morning I found my scarlet hermit crab wearing it. It was so funny, it looked like a turban or something. I just wanted to share the photo.

Is this normal, and is this okay? I don't want the little guy to get hurt or stuck some where. And sorry the pic's so fuzzy, the hermit's little, and my camera sucks.

Perfectly safe.
Anything with a small hollow in it can be thier home. In past we have added all sorts of things into the tank for them to play with that fits the bill. Nice pic.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! I love that picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a risky move for the hermit...eventually that urchin test will break. :( They aren't all that sturdy I am afraid.

Yeah, I was afraid of that so I put in some old snail shells that are about the same size. But so far he's not leaving his new home, I'll post more pics if I get any that are clearer.
