hermit +rock

Ive had this very large hermit crab(shell 2.5") in my tank with live rock and crab seems to be eating all that nice stuff that came with the rock that the fish like to peck at. But all that life is almost cleaned off. Should i lose the crab or let it continue eating. The fish no longer poke at it like they use to.

If its munching on your LR, then try and feed it some krill or other small pieces of seafood every now and then. Thats what I do with my hermits. I know I hate it when my cleaners eat up all the coralline algae off of the LR and create a mess in the sand bed.
