Does anyone have a hexagon aquarium they can post pictures of?
Also, what is your opinions about this type of tank for saltwater?

I have a hexagon, I believe it is a 35 gallon. I will post pics when I get home from work.
As for how it is for saltwater: I like it because of the height. Of course one problem with this is the lighting penetrating and reaching the bottom. So of course you have to be careful were you place coral and what types you get.
I have a condi anenome on the bottom of my tank, and it is doing great. It got sucked into my power head three times and still recovered. I have a 2x65w PC. One 50/50 and a dual actinic. I believe that the blue light can penetrate deeper, therefore I got the dual actinic instead of 2 50/50.

The only problem in hex tanks is you are robbing swimming room. Most fish swim left to right and not up and down. I think that 1-2" fish (as an adult) would be ok, but not much larger. Just my opinion. I had a 15 or 20 hex many, many years ago I had for sea horses.

Debbie, what size were you thinking about?

My green chromis and lawnmower blenny seem very happy in the tank. I also got a maroon clown and it seems to be doing great.
I think that fish adjust to the tank, after being in mine for a little while they started to swim up and down more.
I definately agree that you should stay with smaller fish.

They can present several issues:
1) filtration - hard to fit a sump or something under there so a cannister filter may be used which can cause their own issues. But due to the lack of surface area, gas exchange is limited, and therefor pH can be a problem. Circulation may be very critical.
2) Fish space, as mentioned, can be an issue. If you had for example a clown and an anemone, the clown may dominate the whole tank. This is true, of course, in smaller tanks but in hex tanks even decent size tanks still have a small footprint and are prone to territorial issues.
3) Lighting - not a problem with metal halide pendants but other options may be limited.

I have one but I have african cichlids in it. I think it is a 45gal. its great for rockwork... you can pile up high. It fits great in a corner.

It is not much bigger than what I already have, it is a 29 gal and I have a 25 gal long. I think due to the lighting thing I will stay with what I have. I was just wanting to move my 25 upstairs and then I thought a hexagon would take up less room plus they look neat.

i have a 30g hex and have decided to limit livestock to clowns and anemones. i've tried other fish but they seem cramped for room. clowns tend to bob up and down anyway so i think it's a perfect fit.
i have pc lighting and an anemone that rests right in the center and is doing great. a pair of gsm clowns host the bta.

I don't think it will work for me. I have a coral beauty angel, maroon clown, yellowtail damsel and bicolor blenny.
I do love the look the hexagon tanks, they take up less room to and would look perfect in our livingroom but I don't want to have to get rid of the fish I have.

Love the look of those too but not enough room in our livingroom for that size.
At the moment my 25 gal is in the downstairs family room. My husband made me an oak stand that holds the 25 gal on top with room for 2 10 gal tanks below. That was when I was into my freshwater. I thought about trying to downsize this current stand but there is just not enough room for it.
The other possibility was to buy one of those stands that are out of that pressed board that all LFS stores have usually in black for my 25 gal. They just seem so flimsy to me but I guess if they sell them for this reason they must have to be able to hold the weight??? Anyone have these?
