Since your a Bangaii breeder maybe you could help me out here. Ive got one Cardinal but am not sure if its a male or female. If I posted a pic would you be able to tell? Ive been told its visibly obvious by the shape of the jaw, but Im not sure what Im looking for. Also, Im interested in adding one more to try and mate them up. Is this possible after Ive had the original one for about a year and a half? Are there the same issues as with clowns? Thanks in advance!

CardinalFish are born either Male or Female. They do not morph sexes like Clownfish.
To be honest my accuract rate isn't much better than 50% :(
Males are obvious IF
they have carried eggs before.
The way I --- them if with a known male. The male will attack another male.

I'll have to agree w/ Guy on this one....
its a a solid roll of the dice proposition, particularly when the fish are ypung. I have to say I might be slightly better than Guy at guessing the ---, but in general terms I'm a solid 50/50 (Guy has some Mojo thing happening where he sniffs the fish-not sure which end-but he can somehow tell the --- from the smell-its kinda fishy to me  :D
If you want to read more about raising/breeding banggai cards feel free to read here.
Just skip everything about the sexing, i wrote the articles back in 96, 97,98 respectively and the ideas i had back then about sexing just don't hold up today
