Hey guys I need some good thoughts/opinions on this filtration possibility...

My LFS has a display tank with a sump. The tank has two overflows prebuilt into it. The sump has no media as in a refugium or a wet/dry setup. It's just the drain the protein skimmer and the return line/pump. The tank is perfect and thriving. Should I do this? They advised I set mine up like theirs, but I'm debating on whether to do it or not. Thanks for your help guys.

Nothing wrong with how they have it set up.....Wet/Dry's aren't typically run as much anymore....A good protein skimmer goes a long way IMO....

Filter socks can be used, but you have to remember that they need to be changed out frequently....Some run/dump their drain water from the DT into rubble rock in the sump area and then the skimmer picks it up from there....There really isn't a sure fire answer depends how simply or complicated you want to make the setup.....
Any pics of the setup......Altering the wet/dry really isn't that complicated. What type of tools do you have at your disposal.....
