Can a moderator tell me how long this "new" period is going to last? I am getting past the point of frustrated and approaching the line of p*ss*d off and just asking for email addresses of the people I speak with on the boards. Is there anyway to uncheck the box for my newness? At the very least, can you actually do what your supposed to and publish my posts?

I thought for sure it was because i had included web addresses in my posts and some automatic filter was kicking in. Now I have no clue because the last post I just tried to make has nothing harmful in it at all. WTF?

contents of the post:

just how bad are the test strips? I saw the API test kit at a local pet store while looking for a $20 20 gallon tank for a sump. it was $32 and I could not find an expiration date on the kit. Dont these things expire after a year?

The plant was the kids choice and she was warned that 1) it might not grow 2) might get eaten by the fish and 3) might get too big for the tank. She said that she didnt care and wanted it anyway. She is such an impulsive 7 year old. Thank god she is normal LOL!

I am the only one in the family to like the neons so those wont go into the tank. I believe after the mickey will be a molly of some type. And that will prolly be the end of the fish additions.

I am looking forward to cleaning the green stuff off the tank and stuff as no one else around here is going to do it. I got my rubber gloves ready, well i got to buy em first, and the scraper/sponge is coming up.

As far as stability, if I can get this FW tank right, that should mean i can get the 60 gallon SW tank right. Right?

nope. I get the popup box that says "because you are new here, your post is being held for moderation" and then it never shows up. I am using IE8 with all available updates applied. If it is my PC causing the problem then the staff here needs to update their board software as i would imagine they would want thier site to work with the most widely installed browser on the planet.

you got PM BTLD

edit : I am thinking its is more of a timing issue. Right after i sent the pm i wanted to post what is above. I got the your new crap and it didnt post. So, this leads me to believe that this is more of an anti spam filter kicking in than anything else.

@mods : please give me the time restraints you have placed to prevent spam so that I can keep that in mind when posting.

So what's the issue again? It seems you were successfully able to start a thread, reply to your thread, and send BTL a PM....

I've been a member of boards that have done this and it can be frustrating. I think one of the main reasons for doing this is to catch a lot of the spam posts before they get posted. Just my guess ...

It's probably a setting they don't realize they have in place. I mod on a forum that does this with new members.... and it's to try and prevent spam and trolls. The posts don't get deleted, but are invisible to the public where they wait to be approved.

PM the admin directly or one of the mods and see if it's a setting. Don't get mad, this site is new to everyone and has to be fine tuned by all.
