that the closed loop it's separate from your overflow system.. but it will help your turnover rate ... just a little pvc and a pump and you have a closed loop...

but first we can get your sump set up ....
1. make sure parts fit...
2. connect tubing to your overflow drain
3. put overflow box on tank (do not start siphon yet i'll walk you through that too.)
4. make sure your tubing will reach your sump/wet/dry whatever.
pause ...drink a beer.... what skimmer are you using? i'm going to look at your pics again...
this is wht it should be looking like when finished pay attn to the valve and the piping take the pump to the hardware store to find the right size...
your return pump will be on the right /overflow pipes on the left bioball side...
get your tubing all set up fill the fuge and wet dry 1/3 full before starting siphon.. and return pump...

I haven't got the tank in place yet. I am getting a new couch and entertament center today. When I get them I'll be putting the tank in the living room. I was waiting to setup the 90 gal. until I could put it in the living room. In the mean time I got my lights mounted last night and the sump fits very nicely in the stand. I got 120 lbs of aragonite sand and I have about 75 lbs of lr. I plan on getting about 30-40 lbs of base rock to put with it. So I'll be filling the tank with water this afternoon and we'll be able to go ahead with everything. I wanted to get the sump and plumbing started before so I would know how to do it before hand instead of having it setup without it. So.... I will let you know this evening when I have the tank full so we can go on. Is that ok Coach?

I did forget to list my skimmer, it's a coralife super skimmer 125. And am I going to be putting both heaters for this tank in the sump?

Coach I just ran into a problem. The super skimmer is to tall to mount on the sump, so do I just get more hose and run it over the lip of the sump? If I sit on the floor of the stand it will fit fine. So I just need to run longer hoses to fit right like the pic above?

that pic above has nothing to do with skimmer.... thats just the flexible tuing and valve for your return pump... I dont have much experience with the SS125 but is it a hang -on skimmer....you might have to hang it on your display due to the lack of hieght/space in your sump/fuge. yes you essentially want nothing in your display tank but fish and rock and sand so stick both the heaters in the sump.

Ok I got ya, I'll just put the skimmer on the back and go to lowe's to get piping for the return. I'll take my pump with me to lowe's and fit it, I'll tell the guy out there what my intent is so he can help me find exactly what I need.

Hey coach I was just looking and the 5/8" hose I told you about before was the return line that the other guy used. So.. I'll take it and use it for my return line. The over flow hose that came with the sump won't be long enough so I'll buy new. I'm going to take it with me and ask if they have the kind of hose and get about 5 foot instead of the 3 foot that I have. Does that sound about right? :jumping:

make sure you get extra of the clear piping just to make sure you have enough i bought 7' for my return you shouldnt need any for you overflow if you have the piping for the overflow already... and it reaches in to the sump.
ahhh ok ...your set just make sure it's long enough.... you might want to take the box with you to make sure the line will fit it then....

Coach, I just got all it dry ftted and it all fits good. I got 7' for both the old hose was just like the OF box ( nasty ). The new furn. should be here anytime, after they bring it in I'll set up the 90 gal. I'll post again after I have it ready.

Hey coach, I've been filling the tank since this morning, it's about half full. I put everything together and it looks really good I still have to cut the extra hose off but other than that I think we have it. I am filling with ro water ( like you're supposed to ) I only have a 24 gallons a day filter. But it fills a 5 gallon jug every 45-60 min. I'll trim off the extra hose and post some pics. I have no clue about the sump ( how much water to put in it ) so when I get more water in the tank I'll let you know.

with the sump you want to fill it about 1/3 full before starting the sipon and return pump...start ther siphon first and then your return pump post a picture of how you hgave the return into your tank. (i'm making sure you drilled a siphon hole in your return line...)just below the water line..
