Indeed I do. I honestly can't think of a part that isn't on the car...It was a shops car so it was built right. It might blow up the next time I have taken it out (knock on wood) but I have had it for about 10K miles and have flat out abused it on slicks and M/T drag radials and have not had a single problem. The car even hooks VERY well. It has a full Kenny Brown racing suspension.
Heck I had a DTE differential brace on the Z06 and it still didn't help. The output shaft snapped after I got the DTE brace installed and tore the entire rear end housing apart. It also bent the bolts holding it on.

Is your cobra solid rear or automatic yet?
I've seen sprayed twin scr-ew cobras drop half a second or more with a solid rear and auto with a properly matched stall.
Ever see the evolution motorsports GT500 by chance? That thing got quick with an auto lol..

Nope still 6 speed IRS. A fully built solid rear with 3.55's came with the car and is out in my garage now. That was their next mod before I bought it. However I have no plans of ever putting it in or going auto. I didn't buy the car to go cut killer 1/4 times because I know I could put it in the 9's and I'm not going to install the needed safety stuff. Plus I play softball almost every weekend and just don't have the time to really race. I just wanted a fast street car that was somewhat of a sleeper, which is far from the ground pounding Z06 I had. There are actually some videos of that car on the internet somewhere. Let me see if I can find one...

oh come on now... the cobra is too much of a pig to be a good corner carver anyway even with the IRS lol...
Whoever said anything about the safety stuff or going to the track lol..

It's easier to hook an auto on the street anyway especially with all that PD blower torque.

LOL, even though it is quite a bit heavier than the Z06 was it handles corners WAY better than I ever thought it would. I have never had the traction problems with the Cobra I did with the Z06 either so that's one area where the weight is helping me. I just can't see going auto, I have to much fun changing gears.
Oh, and I got kicked off one of the few 1/4 mile tracks around here for running into the 10's on the Z. Hell when I went through tech they made me take the nitrous bottles out of the car before I even got to run...

a grand just to run? yeah right.. I'd rather take my chances on the street than pay a tech guy a grand.. that's where sleepers help at the track... because you'll at least get to run once..
btw renegade what were the specs on that cam? a friend of mine has a z28 with a trex v2. which is a retarded cam to run in a street car lol... it has a turbo 350, a 9inch with 4.30 gear&spool and 28inch tires. Gutted bottom 10s cam only car... It is a hardtop no option car though.

The one time I went to that track they popped the hood and really looked the car over...I was like WTF?
The Magic Stick 4 is one step below the Trex cam but the MS4 was pretty crazy for a street car too...I don't remember the exact specs, I have the cam card at home.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I don't know any toy techs and all I had was stupid Alldata. I found it odd that they had such a strong warning about letting the cam jump and bending valves. I didn't know if the engine used lightweight valves with small stems that were prone to bending or what. I picked up the belt today and will buy a water pump as well. Will the Mitsubishi 2.0 liter tensioner "grenade pin" fit the Toyota hydrauic tensioner? (Allen wrenches sometimes bend under the pressure)
I was going to use a chain type vice grip to hold the crank hub while removing and torquing the balancer bolt. I don't have access to the special tool. What do you use to hold the crank hub/balancer?
Thanks again.
I am 90% certain that the 4g63 mitsu grenade pin will work. And while I do have the SST in the bottom of my tool box, I use a chain wrench. Hey, if Toyota Masters are using them, so can you!
ANY questions EVER you (or anyone else) just holler.

Thanks a ton. I'm going to tear into it next week if all goes well with our hectic schedules. We bought it new in August of '06 and it has 120K on it. Have you guys ever seen the belt actually fail. I feel like we're walking on thin ice and I'm afraid to drive it very far until I get this stupid belt changed. I hear that some dealers are getting $1200+ to swap the belt and water pump.

And DrTITO, would you still like me to ask my bf? It sounds like these guys know what they are talking about!
I know you weren't talking to me but still ask him. Curious minds would like to know...The only reason I know as much as I do about them is because I took automotive in college and still somehow managed to spend 2-3X more than I sure have modifying cars over the past 5 years. Once I learned the hard way I started researching everything.
Rotary seems to know his stuff too, but the racing scene in TX is way bigger than it is around here.

Ok so the bimmer does have a snail (turbo)... but gauging on the fact that the rest of the motor, tires, wheels, and probably suspension appear to be stock.. mid 13 second car at best which unfortunately is next to nothing these days.

Rotarymagic, and all other curious souls- the cars that you saw in the pictures, are a few of the ones that we have had lately... the wagon is one of those awesome deals you get every once in a while... the red 318 was one of our other turbo projects, ran a 14.2 on street gas and a set of donuts on the fronts (had two flats on the way there... yeah, none were trailer queens)then the all so mighty "fastest ("beemer" as my girlfriend puts it) in the panhandle" Well she's close to right, it was not only the fastest bimmer in the -florida- panhandle, it was also the cleanest! It's a 91 E30 325IS m20, 60 trim turbo, 90lb injectors, Walbro, 525I coil, 3in.(crushed bent so really 2.5in.) custom magnaflow exhaust, and ireland engineering full set green bushing kit, vogtland titanium springs(2.25"front and 1.75"rear) and a 100 shot of n2o(Zex), and the paint was done custom by a good friend, silbermatallik-blau mixed with a house black, then the wheels were painted to match, also carbonfiber roundels, and an e36 front bumper and eyelids, the ******** had a brand new set of E30 M3 seats and shiftknob w/ boot, and the best part was, all-in-all, including buying the car, we spent 3,700 dollars on the whole thing, then sold it for seven. I'm not a certified mechanic or anything but I can hold my own when it comes to turning wrenches... so, for anyone that doesn't believe that it was the fastest bimmer in the panhandle, let me know when and where you wanna run em and i can probably get the guy who bought it to come out and race... also have the new project in the works... the new fastest bimmer in florida... haha, not really, but it is pretty quick... anyways, to be perfectly honest with you, i have no idea what is wrong with drTITO's car, or typing ability, if he came to me and i looked at it i could fix it, but it's pretty difficult to diagnose over the internet. Anyways, this was not Girlina4x4, obviously, it's her boyfriend... now please continue to attempt to argue with me about a car, when you're on a damned fish forum... well have fun playing with nemo and feeding Dorey, btw those little duster worms and cleaner shrimp are so awesome! -Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, how do you like the Zex system on the BMW? I've been considering adding it to my wife's Z3 with the M52 engine. In your opinion, should I do an injector and software upgrade at the same time or will the factory injectors keep up?

This is Emily now, I asked him and he said he wasn't sure if the factory injectors would hold up, since he upgraded at the same time. He said it did make a huge difference though.
Jeremy has now been banned from posting on here by me. He gets very, um, animated about cars

lol.. talking smack about keeping sw tanks when he's got some old slow beater...
if it ran a 14.2 on two power adders that's so sad.. I'd kill myself. Make sure Jeremy reads all this so he can descend from his imaginary high horse.
I especially hate when guys brag about having a bmw when its some old ricky thing that costs $500.. yeah.. what a bimmer.
