Hi there, I am Cube Master JTT

I solved the 5x5x5 Rubik's cube! (aka Professors cube)
I have already solved the 4x4x4 Rubik's Revenge and the standard 3x3x3 cube. But I just got the 5x5x5 in the mail and have already begun to master it!
My best times are:
3x3x3 Rubik's Cube - 58 seconds
4x4x4 Rubik's Revenge - 12 minutes, 43 seconds
5x5x5 Professors Rubik's Cube - 26 minutes, 56 seconds

I have a 5X5, but never really got around to messing with it too much. I've already mastered the 3X3 in under a 2 minutes and can do the 4x4, but it takes some time and effort. I also recommend a square 1. I got one on ----. It is easier than the rubik's cube imo, but it challenges your brain in a slightly different way. Just my 2 cents. And btw, that's awesome. It takes a smart person, or someone who has no life to do that

i never could solve the original ones...

They are all quite easy to solve.
Peel off stickers.
Replace in correct pattern.
Stickers were so big in the eighties, I always thought that was all it was about

Also you can take them apart.
This is not cheating, BTW, merely solving it using different "strengths"

haha, it isn't noticeable if you just break it apart and rearrange the pieces. It takes me (and JTT) a lot less time to just solve it

I am sorry but I can not trust anyone that goes around calling themselves the cubemaster. Next thing you know we will have the sticker keeper show up. Then we will have a giant stay puff marshmellow man on our hands and then where will we be....

yeah i definitely have no life
dude, you should totally try to tackle the 5x5, its actually really easy. i would argue that (despite my record times i listed above) the 5x5 is actually easier than the 4x4. the 5x5 yes takes more time, but its much easier to solve and understand than the 4x4. my brain hurts after the 4x4, but i am still relatively at ease when i solve the 5x5.
and i can solve the 3x3 like its nobody's business.

I kinda started to get a life after the 4X4, but since I have the 5X5, I'll eventually get around to tackling it. Very funny Jenny...poor cat.

I am waiting to start my new job on December 15th, Ive run out of savings so i am waiting for that first paycheck. then I will ask her out, Ive been avoiding it because all i CAN offer her is canned fruit cocktail and wheat thins from my pantry,
yes, i have resorted to eating the food rations for when there is an earthquake.

OK, what about the Rubik's snake (from early 80's)?
Or there was one that was this spherical thing with colored pieces in a track and I think you could move that around.
I entertained myself for minutes with those before tossing them aside as hopeless (or coming up with other "creative solutions"). Rubik's cube was the best because of the obvious design flaw in having stickers that could just be removed. The snake and some others overcame that, which is why I learned when something was futile at such a young age.
Now the Merlin I had was pretty awesome.
