Hi yall My name is Mary and we need help

Me and 7 year old daughter wanted to turn my 40gal fw into sw. Fish only tank so could we use the fw equiment for sw?
I myself want to built my 2.5 gallon ecplise in sw is this possible also?

just an aqua clear filter for 40 gal, a heater, coralife fixture with actic blue light and 50/50 and air pump for my tank

all that sounds good. you will need to add at least one power head, and dump the air pump, not needed good luck to you
also will need live sand and some live rock. they will help stablize ph and filteration
a couple more pieces of equipment you might want to add is a skimmer and and a canister filter (if you arenot going to add a sump and fuge.)

the 40 gallon will be much easier and more stable chemisty wise then the 2.5 g.

You definately want to add a Protein Skimmer to the list, I would not run a FO tank without one.

Thank you and there nothing I could add in my 2.5 gal tank. Even i change the water ever other day. Cause that what I with my discus tank so i don't mind the work. I love this.

Give the 40 gallon a try first before the 2.5. I know alot of people do them but that small a water volume is tough to keep stable. Have fun, I know I do.

The only thing you could keep in the 2.5 gallon is corals and inverts but as said above they are a lot harder to keep stable because they are so small.

Are the 2 anks close enough that you could plumb them together? You would have to have the tanks at the same height though.

Yeah true you could do a refugium with the 2.5g. Though like already said only corals & inverts can be kept in that small of a tank.
