any ideas guys?
under my display in the stand is my 20 gal sump which has a CPR hangon refuge...12 inch. with a 13 watt PC florecent light that apparently needs to be on 24/7. Well its in my room, so at night when its going to be on (havent finished the setup) my entire room will be lit up, there is a 5 inch gap between the stand and my wall, and the fuge is on the back of the sump, flush with the wall and the right side of the stand. Any ideas?
I was thinking of adding a piece of wood to fill the gap with hinges so i can open it and access it?
i can post a pic if it would help
thanks

Although my 'fuge is in my cabinet,I was still bothered by the light shining out of the cracks at the doors,,,So I covered three sides of mine with self adhisive background(black). Then drape a piece of thick black cloth over the front to keep the light in...
When I want to look in I just lift the cloth out of the way.

That's a good idea Salty !
I used a black trashbag as a hanging divider between my sump side and refugium side in the stand cabinet - but it's cheesy and cheap looking.
It works well though, and all I needed was a pair of scissors.
If it get's too nasty - I tear it off and tack up a new one.

I have my refuge in the stand. The stand has no back wall so light reflected via the roomwall back in my tank. I covered 4/5 of the back of my tank with aluminum foil. Very easy to apply and no rsik for getting messy when wet. I use a background so you don't see it. I left a little open to create a moonlight effect.

Dan, you keep the fuge lights on 24-7? I have heard thats what youre supposed to do... but I have also heard otherwise. I am about to set one up so I am asking around.

Taken from a post from NaCl-H2O
"When the caulerpa goes sexual the entire individual goes and the death of that much algae along with the death of all the gemets that die can cause an NH3, NO2, NO3 or toxin/pollutant spike.(toxins and pollutants the caulerpa absorb from the water during growth). In smaller tanks or in tanks where the caulerpa is allowed to remain as one very larg mass rather that several small ones this can cause problems or even deaths amoung fish, corals or other inverts. so does this mean you should keep a small clump and regurally change it? or just keep trimming it as it grows?
