Hi, I have a 55 gal tank with two damsels. Aall testing parameters are fine except for the alkaline. I have a red sea test kit and all it sais is that it is high. No numbers. Can anyone tell me how to get this down? What will it do to fish? I don't want to add any fish until the alk is down. It has been running for twelve years now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm not convinced it's to the point where you want to bring it down. You really need to get a test that will give you numbers :)
You should also test & post your Calcium level. Alkalinity & Calcium have a proportional relationship and need to be maintained together.
ALK will normally drop naturally if you stop adding it. What have you been dosing lately and how much?
