high fin goby

i got him and put him in the tank and he shot under a rock and hasint come out yet. will he stay under there froever?

They can be very timid at first, just give him more time. You might see him out tonight, do you have any moonlights--you could watch him exploring.

no i dont. he actually is still under the rock whee my clowns sleep. they dont seem to mind. i wonder if he is dead... hes only like an inch and a half big. but when i moved the rock origionally he bit me!

My LFS calls them Yellow Rose Gobies. They have one in a 12g nano and more than half of the time I cannot find the bugger. Matter of fact yesterday he almost took the tank apart trying to find him and couldn't. I think they are quite shy.
I would be patient and observe his/her behavior. They will burrow and most of the time just hang out in the burrow.

A bit more info with the important thing...
When first added to the aquarium it may not eat for several days, but will usually acclimate and begin eating.

thanks for all the help man! he is still where he was last nigh except he repostitioned himself. he slept with the clowns in there nest last night
