Hints on Lionfish tankmates

So, what if I get a small frog, and let it grow with the Lion. How big was your frog when you got it? If it is like 2-3 inches, you seriously think that its probable that my lion fish would get swallowed hole (or an attempt would be made resulting in two dead fish). Thats insane (not calling you insane). Not only would my Lion be much bigger than a 2-3 frog (at least twice as big), but then there is all of the poisonous fins. Don't fish know what is poisonous and what is not. My good friend and then a LFS have told me that a frog would "just know" that it could not eat the lion w/o killing itself. Obviously thats a lot to ask a fish to do (cognitively think about the decision that it is about to make), but does that sort of thing happen? How big is your frog now? How big of a Lion would feel comfortable putting there with it?
I recieved the frog at 2 inch and now its roughly 4 inches and fun to look at. Just rember im not saying that the frog will certainly eat the lion but from what i saw frog fish tend to have bigger eyes then their stomach can handle.
I would say a lion that big will be in no harms way as long as the frog does not get bigger than 4 inches. But their is always a chance that if its hungry and you did not feed it properly (not syaing that you will) it might get anxious and take a bite. So i propose to keep it properly feed with a bigger lion and you should be ok. If you have a bigger tank a Trigger would be great with it for one reason, that is because triggers are not as passive as lionfish and they will put the frog in its place (thats only if they are slightly bigger nto smaller) good luck

my lion has been with my dogface puffer, huma trigger and wrasse for a long time with not one proplem, i think if you keep everyone fed and happy you wont have a problem, at feeding i dump a bunch of krill, brine shrimp, squid, and some reg. shrimp, then i throw in the siversides for the lion and the grouper, i think the grouper is the more aggressive at feeding, i have seen him take a silverside out of the triggers mouth, no one as ever niped at the lion and he hangs out all the time, so just be careful but it can be done,
my angel sometimes chases the foxface but i was told that is more to try to clean any crap off him.
just my experience so far

Its really just a matter of time. With aggressive triggers and lions together its a matter of when, not if, they snap. Mine were together for about 3 years and were very well fed.
