hippo question again .. please help if ya can

I got this baby hippo a couple of days ago and even though he /she quickly comes out to snap up some food i only really got a good look at him/her today and i noticed that even though the body looks good the face area looks discolored like a really dully blueish grey .. is this due to stress or is there something wrong .. any info would be great ... thanks all

My hippo had gotten this quite badly and my LFS said it was due to a lack of greens and vitamins. Since then have been feeding him plenty of seaweed selects soaked in vitamins and he has gotten much better. Still not fully recovered but getting better each day. Good luck.

tigerseyes,
I agree. Not providing the right diet can cause this. In tangs, it can also cause stress, which can result in an ick infestation. I can tell you're keeping a close watch on your new pet....good luck!

Tangs can also change there whole body color in seconds depending on there mood. My Sailfin can change his whole body from light to dark in about 3 seconds no joke, it depends on his mood.

Try formula 2 by Formula Foods. It is very high in veggies and all of my fish love it. I alternate between flake, frozen brine, and formula two and all of my fish seem to keep pretty good color. If you are not familiar with Formula Foods thay are in the frozen foods section of your lfs.... they might be behind the counter if its a smaller place.... so you might need to ask.
