His back!!! (pics/vid)

Went to my parents for Easter, and finally got a chance to bring my Lei home again (they were babysitting). If you're not familiar with his history, he was a bit too aggressive, a bit too much for me to risk trying him out in the big tank with some of the delicate fish I have in there. But now that I'm changing things up, he's back in the lineup.

Just a couple of pics and a vid of him getting accustom to the QT (55gal) and a quick meal. He does still need to fatten up a bit, though the pics make him seem deathly skinny for some reason....

Scythe Trigger, aka Lei Triggerfish, Whiteline Triggerfish, Boomerang Triggerfish. One hard to come by trigger....great specimen! hope he plumps up nice!

Thank you sir! Very much correct, he's a Sufflamen Bursa, and I like to use the common name, Lei. They're typically from the Hawaiian Islands, and yea, aren't really seen much in the hobby.

I actually found him at a LFS up here, Trident Pets in Palm Bay. They usually get cool stuff in, I also have a 'yellow hawkfish' Cirrhitichthys bleekeri from there, which is the only one I've ever seen in stores/online forums.
I've seen Lei's offered twice before, once at Jawz in Lauderdale. They actually had two, on a big HI shipment, both were actually smaller sized, ~3", but they looked roughed up, one had mouth damage. The only other time was at the very big store in Margate (can't mention name, rival to SWF, but you should know it), and they had a larger one like mine, ~6.5".

Basically going back aggressive. Trying to keep those Butterflies was rewarding, but it was equally frustating at the same time. Pretty much the Naso, clowns, and leopard wrasses will be going to my parents.
Final stocklist would be something like;
Blueface angel
Rock Beauty angel
Lei trigger
Black Durgeon trigger
Yellow hawkfish
Monocle Bream
Two Spot Maori Wrasse
Aust. H. Tusk

Wow! That's a really cool looking trigger. I've never seen one like that with the stripes. Hope he gets along with the rest of your fish.

And I know Yellow Hawkfish get big (and a very cool fish), but they are not exactly active are they? Don't you worry about the Triggers and Wrasses abusing one?

SWF gets them in occasionally and they usually last a few days up. Suspect SWF's completely less then flattering photo doesn't help.

I think you might be thinking about a Stocky hawkfish? A yellow hawk is more or less just like a coral/pixy hawk, and max's at only around 5". They just happen to come from Japan and command a higher price because of shipping costs...
I think the wrasses would be fine, the Maori only gets 6" max, and Tusks are know for not being overly aggressive. Searching for a smaller Aussie Tusk should be fun, and I'd like to get the Durgeon as small as possible as well. We had the Lei with a Ringneck Blenny, and he cared less about him, but I think the hawk is aggressive enough to fend for himself. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he tries to show the Lei what's what (though I think his success is going to be somewhat limited
)

Yea, the pic I linked to is an adult supermale, and not all look like that, but yea, the SWF pic is rather unforgiving.
Took a new vid tonight, he's enjoying some seaweed.
Listen to those teeth when he chomps down. That's him, not the camera!!!

I was there today and they have another one for sell.

I just saw one of these guys at *****. Didn't realize they weren't common. I'll have to go back and see what they wanted for him.
