Hitchicker...Possible ID ?????

Sorry no pictures and most likely a poor description,but here goes.
I have what to me is a leg/claw coming out of a hole in the liverock at times.
I think it is beige in color with a red stripe across the top.
My wife says she did not notice a red stripe but thinks it is beige in color also. I would estimate the leg/claw at around 1/2" long
I know its a longshot but does anybody think they might know what this may be by my vague description?

Yes it has claws.
I got a slightly better look at it but not a great look. It looks to me to be some sort of crab that is not in a shell like a hermit. I watch it use it's claw to pick at the rock and then (maybe) like it is feeding move towards I would guess its mouth. Like I said it is under a coral and I'm mainly just seeing the claw.
When it moved out of the rock for a brief second I again would think it is some sort of crab.Forget the color I stated in my 1st post. Unless I have more then 1 hitchicker,it looks like a dark color,maybe brownish

It could very well be a crab. Maybe a Gorilla crab. It could even be a pistol shrimp. I have a pistol shrimp that hitched a ride in and I have never scene him. I hear the popping or clicking sound. I can't think of the name right now but pistols do come in the dwarf size. They are only like a 1/2" long.

Are there 2 different kind of pistol shrimp?
I mean I thought I read about 1 that is dangerous,and can kill fish, and another that is not ??
I do not hear any popping noise though
