Well Christmas is fast approaching as you know and i am trying to decide between two types of equipment for my nano. The two in question are:
1. RO/DI (Found a guy in my community with a great brand new 6 stage for 150)
Pros- pays for itself within a year, no 20 minute drives to get it, instant access, great find and great price
Cons-Already have access to rodi at just .50 a gallon, the purchase of it would not really change anything in the tank.
2. Upgraded light (Most likely JBJ Viper 70 watt, so both the light and rodi would be an equal price)
Pros-Would be able to sustain nearly every coral, anemones, and clams which i love. I much prefer the clip on lamp style over the canopy that comes with the biocube. Its metal halide....water would look better
Cons- Already can sustain a decent amount of corals, i am happy with how the acintics look. Viper seems to be unreliable...
Let me know people thank you!!!

Yeah i was thinking the ro/di as well, the biocube light isnt bad at all, supports all leathers zoos rics some lps and with the right conditions i hear a clam or anemone can be done

YUP. I have stock lighting on mine and have a Maxima Clam and a RBTA. If I tried hard enough I probably could keep SPS, but I have leathers in this tank since my 155 has SPS and no leathers.
Get the RO/DI. Water quality is one of the most important things in this hobby, especially with nanos. It will pay for itself. I don't like Viper lighting all that much, I believe they have crummy bulbs that come with them. Maybe someone else can confirm.
