I noticed on my tomato clown there are two markings(one on each side), they look like fuzz but not real bad and not out of control , it's been like that for a week I just noticed it.It doesn't seem to affect the clown no scratching ,heavy breathing, trouble swimming.
There is a yellow tang scooter blenny and green chromis, which all look fine.
A few inverts an anemone and a serpent star.
And his body is a bit dark in the middle(how i got him), eating is normal also.
I've had the tank a month and a week , transferred over from a friend, didn't clean the filter(404), and LS, or LR
ammonia is .2
nitrate 0
nitrite 0
temp 79-80
salinity 1.020
ph 8.0
What is it? if anything?
thankx,
And Beth you must be the hardest working mod

If the water quality in your main tank is good, yes use that water. You can throw in a cup or 2 of substrate from your main tank as well. The FAQ section at the top of this forum will give you detailed help with setting up a QT.
Its not velvet. Doesn't sound anything like velvet, and the fish would have died by now if it was velvet.
Does the anemone you have host the clown?

Sounds like a cotton fungus to me... though I am more familiar with FW fish diseases, what you are describing does sound like that to me.
