nope..not that odyessea light..its 1 reflector and that is no better then having PC lights..Plus is it actually T5 or T6
If you have a new Nova fixture or a TEK, aquatinics, or the hello lights 4bulb system that is a copy of the TEK..its on sale for $152 right now then it would be plenty of light if you kept the SPS on the upper shelf's

So this one would work?48" 4 Lamp T5 Unit

yep..I have the 24" 4bulb one..got it before they sold out..its a GREAT light..exact copy of the TEK..and when you change the bulbs to high end ones you can probably keep the sps midway down in the tank. the stock bulbs will be fine if you keep the SPS higher

Ok.I am just looking to keep lps for right now though.Like zoa's and stuff. Will these give me pretty good growth for the zoa's?

Individual reflectors...That is the thing with T5 that make them what they are..without them then they are no better then PC lights.
here is what the fixture looks like..well this is my 24" version of it
this is with the stock bulbs
the only thing with this light..is you have to hang it or make your own legs..they dont have legs for it..Well someone used the TEK legs but they cost $65 for just legs. To me thats not worth it

Ok.Cool.I will be ordering that fixture from hello on saturday.I am making my 75 frag tank.So what do you recommend. My tank has built in filtration.I was thinking about puttung in the self's this weekend, and letting it cycle.

recommend as in?
I have never setup just a pure frag tank.
If I did I would make the eggcrate shelf's and then put live rock under them and bare bottom. then let it cycle.

I do not want any amphipods to get in my tank though. And since I have the built in filtration and protein skimmer,do i need live rock then?

why dont you want amphipods? they are good to have..little cleaners of the tank. Yes you still need live rock. not as much I would say if your not putting any fish in or maybe 1 or 2 small ones..20-25lb is how much i would use.

that def wasnt an amphipod then..or maybe the colony was already dying and they were just cleaning up. They will run all over them but not harm them. sure you dont have them confused with an isopod
