HOB filter question

I am running a whisper 3000 power wet/dry power filter without the sponge and screen catcher. does this do anything or am i wasting my time? I thought it may add to my water turn over rate.

You might as well take it out and add some powerheads..Itll give you a different pattern of flow..

Yes i am running a bak pak2r and 2 zoomed 228 rotating powerheads as well

You should get some nice top wave action. You also have the chance to add some mech. filter to take some of the particles out of the water. Good luck.
