Hole appeared in coral

got this toadstool for about a week, it started to open up, but this hole appeared! Also when I got him, his stem/root was really damaged, can he recover? Anyone know what the hole is?

Hello! I don't think that's a coral mouth, but if it isn't a whole the best thing you could do is to let the coral rest and recover. When people cut them for fragging they recover fine. Sometimes you can do a Seachem iodine dip to help prevent infection but I don't think that's necessary.

The advanced members on here will be able to tellyou if that's a disease or not but in the meantime just let the coral rest don't touch or keep moving him and let him do what he wants

When they got gave it to me it was like that! What should I do?!

I don't have much experience with them. Best advise I can offer is to make sure your magnesium levels are good and make sure it gets ample flow.

What are your water parameters by the way? I forgot to ask. Should always check those when anything is wrong

Update: the whole top part of the coral fell of, only the stem is attached to the rock, he is now not attached and closed up.
