Hole = piping?

if i have a 1'' hole in my tank what size piping do i use,...for my new tank i want to use 1'' piping so i dont no what size hole i would need

Is the hole 1" in diameter, or is there a bulkhead in the hole that can handle 1" plumbing? I ask this because a 1" hole is awfully small.
A 1" Sch. 40 bulkhead requires a 1-3/4" hole, and even a 1/2" bulkhead requires a 1-1/8" hole (per Savko's recommendations for their Sch. 40 bulkheads).
