I didn't do the math, but as I was watching the vote count, this seems to be pretty close to accurate. It wasn't reps v dems, it was more of a mixed bag.
Well the way it was worded it sounded like he said 2/3 of the nay votes were republican and 40% democrat. Doesn't quite add up.

Will be interesting to seeing how McCain and Obama deal with the defeat...
Above all else, it shows a true lack of leadership in Government today.

Or maybe the beginning of new leadership, Pelosi didn't get her way, Bush tried to "reach across the isle" and in the end. Pelosi didn't have the votes, and bush never did.

I wonder how much of this has to do with the upcoming congressional elections? I have not been around that long.... but have never seen anything like it... we are in very serious and delicate times.

Speaking of upcoming elections, the bill got defeated, you know by voting against the bill the opposing party now has a campaign add, voted to destroy the economy. Or voted against saving the economy. Or voted to end affordable housing. And yet they still didn't pass this bill. Makes me wonder what in the heel was in the bill that they were soo afraid of.

Personally, my conspiracy theory side is coming out on this one. It stinks.

Not everything sucked today. Look at Dendreon Corp. (DNDN). Up 33% so far today. Some biotech company that helped develop a prostate cancer drug. Let the bottom fall out, and get ready to dump your money back in. If you pick and choose the right ones, you can hit that Retire Now button sooner than later.

There are a lot of millionaires made in big market drops. I have half of the wife's 401K in cash just waiting. Not enough to make a million but should do well.
