holy serpent star!!

my serpent star has had a hole between two of his "legs" if you will for few months now and nothing has happend to the other creatures in the tank nor has the hole appeard to get any larger. The hole itself is white and appear just to be a chunk missing from his body. Nothing else in my tank would eat him, I don't think. anyone help or explain why? Thank you

I read that starfish that break down like that have less than great water conditions. Starfish are very senstive to salinty levels. If you have levels that are too high or low or that are not that stable, you may have a starfish that will degenerate.

Interesting! I had a feather star that slowly degenerated until it died. None of the 8 different tests that I do ever indicated a cause. Maybe they are just not meant to be kept in aquariums!
