About 6 years in reef and about 17 years in salt all togther. Started off with an old Hex aquarium about 35 gals when I was 6. My mom helped me. And ever since I have owned some sort of salt water aquarium. Maybe one day I will try freshwater but I have heard it was hard.

4 months. If you ask me, a much better "rating" system for SWF.com would be to base it on the number of years in the hobby multiplied by the number of posts you have made. What do you guys think?

8 months in reef keeping, some success, some failure, lots of enjoyment and expense.
3rd year of SW fish definitely easier than reef keeping

1 month in SW reef and 5 years fresh. Got board with the Oscars. Went to the Bay aquarium and that started the salt water fever. I love it! <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

Almost 1 year in reef keeping. When I made the switch to FOWLR to reef my wallet was fat. Now my wallet is skinny and starving.

Reef keeping - 17months (this is when I started SW for the first time too). Freshwater fish - 34 years.
Don't know why I didn't start SW sooner.....
I have 4 tanks at the moment, 2 SW and 2 FW, with plans to start a seahorse tank soon......

i started my first reef tank in 1990 with my dad. it was a 180g with lots of lr and some coral.
well, that was a long time ago, and alot has changed, but i still love it! :D

I started 10 years ago when I first started med school as a "stress reliever" (Only added for the first year). Information wasn't as 'available' then. I now have three reef tanks: 75, 90, 120

I got my first reef a 20 gallon jeau-bert(sp) setup 5 years ago had it up for 2 1/2 years. I now have a 7 gallon bow setup, and I'm in the process of setting up a 55 gallon. I've had a freshwater tank setup for 10 years (5 gallon hex).

It all started with my sis giving me a 3 gallon. Then friends gave me a 35 & 55. I bought a 38? Eclipse with all accessories for $100.
The 55 SW I have had set up going on 10 months now. The 35 & 38? have ciclids and I can't just kill them so that I can convert to SW.
FW is easy compared to SW. I just keep up with the WCs on the FW and thats it! The SW is a different story. :D

Started about six years ago in Reef Keeping. Had 10+ in the aquarium hobby prior. Started salt with a 75g and 6mo. later moved into a 125g. Ahh much better. Room to strech out. lol :)
