homade tanks

My LFS has some tanks that look like they made them, although they could have ordered them especially. They just look like they just put some plexiglass together and bam. I use to go there everyday and watched the different stages in construction. I never saw them put the tank together. How would one go about doing this?

i would take a pice of ply wood and cut a groove where i wanted the glass to go and had a bottom pice of glass that would fit inside the grooves
use the grooves as a way to hold the glass or plexi glass together so you could silicone it all at the same time, after it had all dried i would cut the outside ply wood off and leave the ply wood under the tank to make sure that bottom pick didnt fall out when you fill it with water, but remember your going to need a center brace to keep it from bowing

So i make a mold/mold persay out of wood and put my glass or plexiglass and bond them together. How would the center brace go in? What kind of adhesive would i use? That aquarium adhesive that pet stores have, or does home depot/lowes have something that i could use too.(well i know they do)

Use 100% silicone for glass. Weld-on for acrylic. Theres a thick and a thin, there like weld-on 13 and weld on 3, or something like that. The nubers I gave may be the wrong though cause I forgot what they are exactly, and my coffee hasnt kicked in yet!

You have the #3 right. #16 is the other.
