Homemade Wave Maker

depends on the type of wave maker you want to make. do you want to make a powerhead wavemaker with powerheads turning on and off to make the wave action, or do you want to create an actual surge device?

why are you asking how to make a wave maker when yesterday your asking about how to care for youer 12year old daughters tank? I'm lost.

Sounds like it is the girl talking now but I thought she was out. I am thinking of making a surge tank for my frag tank just for fun. I probably would get a 5g bucket and install a toilet flapper and float. Hook up a maxijet 900 and when the bucket fills, flapper releases and swooooosh! Remember on a wave maker you need several inches clearance at the top of the tank and also it probably pretty difficult in a small tank unless you are talking about just a flow alternator.
