I thought I would post the base schematics for the new tank and see if anyone has any ideas on the set up. I will have 2 overflows running @ 1,500gph on each end of the tank and a bottom bulkhead prob run around 1,000gph, which will allow me to put out up to 4,000 gph on the tank. I am debating on putting the overflows both into the sump/fuge combo with 1 big pump or separating my sump and fuge one to each with 2 smaller pumps...any comments on this would be great. Here is the base list, may be hard to see charts because of sizing issues on this site.
Tank will be in-wall set up with my own 10'x10' dedicated fish room in my wife's veterinary clinic.
Tank 280 gallon 72"L x 36"w x 25"H glass, with low iron star fire glass front.
2 overflows on each end of tank and one center bottom bulkhead, dual loc-line fittings coming out overflows for return (would like on waver maker but concerned about flow/overflow with turning pumps on/off, ideas?)
65 Gallon Sump/fuge combo or separate with additional +-30 gallon fuge.
Center bulk head will be connected to a custom aggregate rock back I will build in sections with pipes built in and 4 adjustable heads for outflow, (ideas?) Will run to canister filter for media when desired, carbon, etc.
Will have 1/3hp inline chiller, clear bulkheads on pipes for backflow prevention, flow rate meters on each line, shut off valves on each line, large UV filter, large skimmer, computer connected lab grade monitoring and probe system, temp, salinity, KH, calc, ORP etc. Want to add ozone and calcium reactor down the road.
Will also have 90gpd RO/DI system with 9w UV filter attached inline, with auto top off system and will have a 100 gallon storage tank for RO water and another 100 gallon for saltwater for water changes. My sump will also be plumbed directly into the sewer system and storage tank will have pump to pump directly into tank, water changes should be a snap. Anyways any comments on my initial design setup, changes, adds, etc would be appreciated. By the way this will be a peaceful reef system, transfer stock from my current tank.
