My hubby bought this for me on Friday,, could you tell me is this the mouth or is there something wrong with it

Unfortunately this is one of those corals that die rapidly after collection, very difficult to maintain.
I suggest you look up flowerpot coral

Yup, unfortunately people continue to buy them, so LFS continue to request them from dealers, and dealers continue to get them in from divers. The chain needs to be broken at the LFS. If the LFS begins to lose money on the item, they will not bring it in from the dealer so often, and the dealer will stop getting so many from the diver because they will lose money as well.

That is not his mouth, it is known as brown slime. It will kill the rest within a few days, what you are seeing is the polyps are liquified. Please stay away from this in the future, like Lion and Thomas said, they are almost impossible to keep.
