In January of this year, I got my first salt water tank and i was so happy about it. It was a 180 gallon fish only tank with a few corals here and there with about 200 lbs of live rock. It went well for several months and then my mom got a new job about an hour and a half away from where I lived. So if we were going to keep the tank we were going to have to move the 200 some odd lbs of live rock along with the fish and drain all of the water and we decide that it would be way to much trouble. So now I live in Huntsville at my grandma's house and can't wait to move out so I can get another tank. I was just wondering what size and what kind of tank yall think i should get. Thanks everybody.

FOWLR probably. I'll probably end up getting some coral because im gonna get a better light fixture this time. I would love to get another big tank, but I doubt i can come across another 180 gal and stand together for $500. I was thinking about getting a 75 or 55 gal.

out of those 2 a 55 or 75 I would go with the 75 it doesnt sound like much but will give you more options with fish but its basically a wider version of the 55 gallon tanks.
also look at the 100 gallons by ocean veiw I beleive I paid 399 for tank and stand and 170 for the canopy its 5 foot tank. and that will open up even more options.

I want one where I can just reach over the back of the tank without getting on a step ladder. lol. I'm 6'1" and that 180 gal was really big. My mom who is 5'2" had a really hard time. lol. Do you think that a 100 gallon is big enought for a SFE?

O yeah I had a yellow headed morray in mine.
here is a picture of the 100 gallon and a 50 against the other was so it gives you a size differnce in the 2. and a picture of the morray eel.

What's the inch of fish to gallons again? I forgot. I know for sure I want a SFE. I alos know that it should be the last added. I dont really want an aggressive tank but I dont want the other fish to get pushed around by the eel. What kind and how many fish should I get to build around that SFE?

the SFE isnt as hostile as the other eels. so tangs and other medium to larger fish will work with them. general rule is 5 to 1 gallon though but its just a guidline. What fish are ones that you like. its easyier to say so and so fish wont go good with a SFE than these fish are good choices because it will effectivly limit what you think you can have. if that makes sense.

That makes sense. I've heard that ocellaris clowns can go with SFEs but I'm not too sure about that one. I also want a coral beauty, yellow tang, and a blue tang. Those are the ones I wanna go after first.

wich blue tang are thinking of?
regal blue or hippo
powder blue tang
or
altanic blue
as far as the coral beuty you might be alright that one cause of its size but I would have to say with caution just for that reason.
