Horrified by LFS

I too was not happy with advice from my LFS at first. Went primarily in the evenings during the week. Am home recooperating from Gallbladder surgery, so had an opportunity to go during the day. I had an enlightening talk with the manager who has 20 years experience with SW tanks, he is delightfull and knowledgeable about the hobby.
The tanks and livestock are all in great shape so I figured some one knew what they were doing.
Have any of you thought of working for these deplorable stores....just one possible solution. It might save some fish lives and would certainly be a humane gesture.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. First of all I wanna say that I have no intentions of posting the name of the store on the boards. I did not want to cause problems here and I'm sorry if I did. Second, thank you for your advise. I'm definitely going to write to the owner and see if anything happens. I will keep you updated if you want.
Thanks
-Daisy :p

Why don't you contact the aspca either nationally or locally. From what I've read they do have some jurisdiction on pet shops. I'd say it's worth a try.

The more I think about it, the more I am inclined to ONLY report observations about any LFS. In the future, I suggest we all not call some lfs any names, judge them, or anything like that. I suggest we all do this, especially with regards to *****. Many of us on this board have freely bashed ***** here and there when we were discusted by what we observed, even though some *****'s are pleasing to the senses. But remember that ***** is quite richer than a mom-n-pop LFS, and can probably afford a huge lawsuit. Just use cautious, non-emotional languange when reporting observations (and when replying to them if you do).

Not really related, but related, I saw someone in a ***** dump like a cup of pellets into a 90 gallon with tangs, I think it was. Vey sad indeed. That store is no longer there, but the *****'s and pet wharehouses in my area (knoiw of two) seem to being much better now. I bought a harlequin tusk and a bicolor parrot at a ***** (NJ) several months a go, and they are doing fine in my FOWLR. They also were NOT diseased when I bought them. NEVER buy diseased fish unless you are superman.

That is just awful how can anyone treat a living thing like that. I live about 45 min from L.A. Maybe you can tell me where this place is so I can check it out.
Good Luck
