Hosting quetion

hey I have a true perc and am about to buy my his pair, I want him to have something to host but dont want to spend money on an anemone, wat corals are they none to host? Thanks

I've seen them host plate corals and Xenia but if you decide to go with a plate coral you might as well get a anenome ($ to $). Get you a cheap pink condy or purple tip. Thats the cheapest route and your clowns have something to host thats first nature to them. I've seen condys run from $6.00 to $18.00. Your clowns will like that better. Thats my 2 cents. good luck

I would get a frogspawn/hammer if you dont want an anemone. Stay away from Condylactus anemones as a hosting species. They are from the Caribbean where there are no clowns and they are not a natural host. I have heard of a few stories where a condy has hosted certain clowns but I have also heard stories of condys eating clowns.

i have heard alot of stories about condi eating smaller clowns. and perks arnt natural hosts to them(i dont believe). i wouldnt advise condi

Be warned-a clown will kill a plate coral-they just can't stand up to the movement of a clown.

Correct. Condy's are not a natural host for any fish because that are from the Caribbean/Atlantic and there are now clowns in the Caribbean/Atlantic
