I was wondering about your back. I think you said you had a bad back and was getting shots for it. do you know anything about Lumbar Endoscopic Discectopmy and Thermal Annuloplasy. I am going to the Doc next week to get some opinions on a few procedures. I was just wondering if you have heard about it and what the recovery time is for it.. thanks, Ron

Actually Ron, my situation is more of a spinal issue. I get Cortisone and Steroid shots reguraly in the side of my neck into the C-2,3,4,5 and also in the Oxipital (sp)for a nerve block.
Good luck on your procedures. I will keep you in my prayers my friend. Barry

mine is L5. the disk has ruptured and is leaking into my spine. I have been taking vicodins and some muscle relaxers, but the pain is getting worse now. I am forced to have the disc operated on now. I should have taken some time off work to let it heal proprely but I am stuborn. I am leaning towards the LED/TA procedure. less pain involved and faster recovery time. I will keep you posted on everything. Ron
P.S. from what I have heard about your problem. I would rather have my problem. good luck. Ron

Reckler - I had a Microdiskectomy on my L4 and L5 disks about 3 years ago. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

I spent one night in the hospital. After that it was 3 weeks at home. I had exremely bad sciatica down my left leg from it. The pain from that was gone the moment I woke up from the surgery. It did feel like I got hit in the back with a baseball bat after that for a while but that was from the incision and not the bad discs. But, thats what pain meds are for

No problem. I hope everything works out for you. The main reason that they had me stay home 3 weeks was that they didnt want me to drive before that time. My doctors told me that sitting in a car is about the worst position your back can be in. I had an hour long commute each way that was absolutely brutal before I had the surgery.

I hear ya. I drive all day long from job to job. by time the day is ending I can't hardly get in or out of the truck. It is harder to drive than do the actual work imo. I have an appointment scheduled for this week to see the doctor and find out what would be the best proceedure to have done. I hope I can return to work soon after because I can't stand sitting around dooing nothing. Thank you for all the helpfull advice. It gives me a better idea to what I am looking forward too.
