What is the rule of thumb for the size of tank you can put on a second floor? I know that it depends on the house ect.... but any factual guesses? I have a three story 5 yr old house and want atleast 100-120 long. I figure that will be about 1,200-1,400 pounds after rock, refugium ect.... Also, any war stories out there?

I had problem with my 45 on the second floor. It was errr how can i say thing falling through the floor and oine day my mom might of killed me when my tank was on her jeep. I ended up putting a inch thick piece of ply wood under that tank to distribute the weight. Also i found out where the steel suport beem was in the garage celling and put it over it. I havent had a problem since.

if the house was built by a reputable builder you should have no problem. You should try to cross as many floorjoists as possible though.
