Well I'm setting up a 20gal long and do not have the space for a true refugium, so I was thinking of getting the CPR hang-on refugium and want to put the biggest one possible. My concern is would Water Capacity: 4.70 Gallons
Dimensions: 25" L x 4.5" W x 12" T be to much weight on the back glass or am I just overreacting?
Hi,
I had the same concerns, I would call the company and see what they say about it. I had a larger tank...30g long...I went with a larger tank 56g and opted for an in-tank refugium and so I never tried to call for an answer. It does seem like an awful lot of weight on the back of the tank to me.
A little refugium is really all you need. It holds the tiny copepods and amphipods, a little light if you want to keep a little macroalgae, on a 20g tank it would be more then enough.
