How can I automate my tank?

Wondering if it is possible (or feasable) to automate my 40g tank. I've heard that some people have setups in which lights are remotly controlled to follow current sun/moon cycles.
I deally I'd like to be able to simulate moon cycles as well as feeding cycles (ie: filter turns off and a few minutes later food is added, a few minutes later the filter system restarts).
Any ideas or especially details on these kind of systems are greatly appreciated.

Go to your hardware store and buy some timers.The kind you would plug a lamp intio,and start playing with them...
Ihave my lights setup on three timers,and they work great.
I'm not sure about running the filter on one though..Pumps sometimes have a habit of not restarting on thier own once power is cut..This could cause serious problems...

I've been using timers, but I'd like to look into something that gives me more flexability.

Get yourself a Neptune Systems Aquacontroller II. Kind of a pricy investment, but well worth it.
