How common is the green closed brain?

My LFS has the green closed brain (that is very similar to), the bottom (2nd) picture in the saltwaterfish.com coral section. It is very fluoresent/neon green, very nice looking. He said he doesn't usually get ones like that, and that he would keep it for me until I am ready for it. It's about 3-4" he wants $100.00 $CAN. after tax.($60.00$US approx.)
He doesn't seem to have "set" prices for things, so I feel like he tries to pull a fast one on me at times. Like the time he told me my live rock would be $10/lb and I had to remind him he quoted me $9 one week before.

Maybe I'll "call" him on it.
But, how much do I offer him? Because, really, I don't know how common that particular color is.

It sounds like I'm buying a new car here. lol ....." I really want it, but I can't let him know it, and I also don't want to get ripped off"

3"-4" Seems a little much (this is my opinion) to me. Even with awesome coloration and a decent size I don't think I would pay more than $35-$45 for it. Although, I would have to see it to be sure exactly. Even though I would only pay this much for something as common as a brain coral... it all depends on you. If you really like it, and want it, pay whatever you think or what you can afford for it. Hope that helps you and good luck with whatever decision you make!

I have seen those brains in my LFS in the 7"-9" category for that price. Green seems to be a pretty common color around here for me, so that might have something to do with it. I still would have agree with the Volks, $35-$45 is a pretty fair price.

LOL. Too funny...I like your thinking! We'll see how it goes.
BTW he has a red rhizo for $500.00. Maybe I'll buy myself a 3 head dendro (for 1/3 the price) for christmas.
Nice rhizo, but $500.00?????

???????Did I miss something??????
I have never mentioned this rhizo before. I live in Canada $500.00 is about $400.00 US$. And actually when I saw him yesterday I told him i would pass on the breen brain, but the rhizo might want to come to my house someday
He said he would give it to me for $400.00. (I'll still talk him down) That works out to approx. $325.00 $US taxes in.
