How deep?

Ok wasnt sure where to ask this but ill do it here. I have the chance to pick up a clear acrilyc "tank" .Its actully a part of a display its 48x30x8. Its one piece with the bottom being black the sides are clear. Its thick like 3/4 to 1in thick. The problem is its only 8in deep will that be too shallow for a frag tank? I guess it depends on the lighting. Any help would be great!

Sounds good to me.. the hieght of your lighting above the tank can be adjusted. It will be very easy to work with your frags in a tank that is only 8" deep.
All that floor space will be nice too and acrylic is light
I would jump on the chance for a tank like that

8 inches deep is perfect for a frag tank IMO, you get full light penetration no problem running that shallow.

yup 8in deep is great. Easy to get ur hand in and not ur whole arm
