How do I acclimate?

Joe, how do I acclimate myself the next time I play golf in Naples in mid-July?! I played last year and I thought I was going to die. It was free beer day too but I stuck with the powerade. That was one round of golf I won't forget.

I've swam with sharks and have yet to become dead.

you do not. the best thing to do is just stay home and ask your friends to do the same

I agree. If you are coming to south Florida in mid-July and you feel the need to venture out of the air conditioning, I'd recommend continuing south down to Key Largo for some reef diving. At least the water should help cool you off. Even if the water temp is 90 degrees.

I will be at Palm Springs in June and I think I will skip golf this time. I think I will acclimate myself to the pool and watch the ladies. My wife will be with me so I better wear the thick shades!

Oh but i must disagree
Unlike most sharks, bull sharks tolerate fresh water and can travel far up rivers. As a result, they are probably responsible for the majority of near-shore shark attacks, including many attacks attributed to other species. However, bull sharks are not true freshwater sharks (unlike the river sharks of the genus Glyphis).
The sharks of Lake Nicaragua written by Randy Wayne White (one of my favorite authors by the way) is an interesting read

To be honest, I think the barracuda that like to hang out about a foot from your head and the curious sting rays that will follow you around make me more nervous then the occasional eight foot nurse shark.
That being said, I haven't had the opportunity to dive with any of the more dangerous sharks. It would probably be a different story if I happened upon a bunch of tiger sharks.
