try putting a bowl or tupperware bowl in there and leading it into it then just scooping him out. hope that helps.

What kind of fish is it? Call me morbidly interested.
Ditto to the tupperware/bucket suggestion. I'm not sure how big your tank is, but I would recommend 1 person, 2 nets.
If all else fails, go to your LFS, find one of their fish-catchers, and offer them $20 to come over after their shift. I had a buddy who had to do this, he just couldn't catch a wrasse in a 90 gallon. The guy came in, and five minutes later, the wrasse was bagged.

1" You might find a fish trap big enough for him.
There's always the 'starve for a few days, then throw food in the net' school of thought too.

last resolt... drop a 9V battery in ther eand he will just magically float to the top for ya! hahaha
just messing with ya.. it would probably kill all the corals too... and doing that would be cruel

the best way to do it is take out half the live rocks. since u hv no corals, it shouldnt be an issue. do u know where it sleeps? if u do, just turn the light on in the middle of the night, and scoop it out. the suddeness of the light being on will blind the fish temporary.

hes only 1"? buy a lionfish and solve the problem like mother nature would...

i had to catch my potters angel and i used a large acrylic box with food on the bottom. waiting until she went for it and lifted the box out. wish i had thought of it before i pulled everything out of the tank.

well, you could try to trap him with a 2 liter bottle. Just cut the top off, and reverse it...seal it up with underwater epoxy or something. just drop some food in the bottom and hope you catch him. you might try it sideways first n then vertically...it's up to you.

i caught a blue spotted puffer by propping a small plastic food container up on one end with a stick that i had tied some fishing line to. kinda like on cartoons where they catch the rabbit with a carrot under the box (only i put a piece of shrimp tied to a rock instead of a carrot) Also i put a small rock on top of the plastic container. then i waited for him to go after the shrimp and when he did i pulled the line and the nippy little dude was caught.

those nets are too small , I used a HUGE net , borrowed it from my LFS. Put it in their and used a poker to stab at the rocks when he went and hid. Eventually he will swim into the net. But the net has to be as wide and almost as high as the tank. It still took me 2 wks to get him ,but i did!!
