How do I clean a light?

I have a PC fixture that I dont need, i want to seel it but i want to clean it up a little first.
Theres salt all over it and some of it has gotten into the gap where the protective glass slides in. I was just wondering if theres a trick out there on how to clean this stuff...I wet rag isnt really helping me.

try a toothbrush to clean salt out of any cracks or gaps.

What type of light is it? I had posted step by step cleaning info for cleaning a corallife pc. If you can find that, it may help you.
