The best thing I've found to remove hard green algae from my glass is the Kent Pro Scraper with the stainless steel blade. It's the only thing I've found that will cut it, short of a razor blade (done it, it works though)... Good Luck, Better eat you Wheaties first...lol ;)

Use an old credit like card to scrape. A razor will not cut glass, I dont think you can cut glass.

The Kent Pro Scrapper has a stainless steel blade and will not rust like a razor blade will. Also the handle is very strong. It works awome and I personally have found nothing to work better.

It used to take me 20 minutes to clean the algae of the front of my glass(green and coraline). I picked up a heavy duty magnet cleaner and it took about 4-5 minutes. It was great, easy and affordable(10.00). Give one of these a try and believe me you will absolutely love it. My filter feeders love it when I clean my tank with the magnet.

A razor blade is the best thing that I have found. I purchased one used to scape paint off the glass at Home Depot. Comes with a neat little handle. I buy the straight razor blades at the grocery store.
The magnet never worked for me at getting the hard green algae off. In fact, I got most of my scatches on the glass from a magnetic scaper. You have to be careful and not get sand between it and the glass.
