They can go days without eating. I get nervous after 3 or 4 days, but they can go even longer than this...most with no problem. I have had success using live ghost shrimp, but if it was already eating frozen, I would use shrimp on a stick or something that you can mimick being live. In my experience once they eat just one thing there is no looking back. Good luck in most cases time is your friend...it will eventually be hungry enough to eat anything.

Just recently my porcupine puffer has decided it only wants to eat shrimp. I use a variety of things and usually only use shrimp about once every three days. It is the next thing on the rotation, but I am going to skip the shrimp till it eats something else...I am on day 3 or 4, and it will sift things but won't really eat. I am holding out as I don't want to feed it a single item.

hes in a 55 cuz hes still kinda small. i have a 150 that im gonna put him in eventually. i just gotta catch my cleaner shrimp oiutta there first lol

I'd always just impale shrimp with wooden skewers that I got at the grocrie store and imitate something swimming around until my lion would go after it. I got like 500 of them or something for about 4 bucks and just throw them out every time I use them.

thats right chris, ive never seen pics of your tank

I am not sure how to post pics, and lack the patience-motivation to learn atm. The better half knows how, but "good mood" is a particular requirement rarely seen after being around me for 5 years. Her birthday is coming up...new things make her happy
...maybe then
.

That is a very nice looking lion! I wouldn't worry just yet. As mentioned, they can go awhile without food and will often go on a "hunger strike" when adjusting to their surroundings. Do you know what the LFS was feeding him? If he is already on frozen then feeding him shouldn't be a problem.

I like you...and I am just kidding about her being cranky. I just know when I get home from work I do not feel like fiddling with pictures, so I choose not to ask that of her. Perhaps it is not all that difficult to one that knows how, but it looks like a pain to me. Download pics, moving files, changing sizes....blah blah blah
