Hello i'm cleaning up the tank real good today but want to get the salt creep off my MH lamps. I know there's UV protection coating of some sort on there and don't want to disturb it. Anyone know how to get the salt off?

Is the salt on the bulb or on the fixture?
The glass is the UV shield, there's no special coating.

If it's on the bulb, unplug the unit and wait for the bulb to cool off completely. Unscrew the bulb, and wipe it down with a soft cloth dipped in r/o or distilled water until all the salt creep is gone. Let it dry completely and screw it back in. If you use tap water on the bulb, the water will leave deposits which can create hotspots and burn out the bulb. Also, when handling the bulb, never touch it with your fingers. The grease from your hands can also create hotspots.
