Hey all-
I have had a DSB for about three months now and i cannot keep the surface of it clean. I have over 30 hermits and 5 turbo snails in a 29 gallon tank and they have not helped at all. Do i need a cucumber, a power head? what? i know it can be done.

You have it flipped around... Should really have 5 Hermits and 20 turbos...
Get a couple of Fighting Conchs, and a couple of Queen Conchs, 1 cucumber and watch it disappear... That's if your parameters are right....!
Good Luck..! :D

Don't sand stars disturb the environment that a DSB is supposed to create and eat the benifical animals that live in the sand?
