How do i know when to change bulbs?

Its looking like I may be needing some new PC bulbs. They're corallife 50/50's but now they're looking like they have pretty much no color to them anymore just like plane white. Do I need new bulbs? (I've had them for probably about 6 months)

no they usually last like 8-10 months but id there is no color than u might want new ones....who knows maybe thats why u had a alge bloom?

Sometimes you get 10 months out of a bulb, but it is not rare to see them begin to look crappy around the 6 month mark. I would replace it.

Ok, I have another q. Is it ok to replace my 50/50 bulbs with bulbs of a different spectrum?

Yes..but do it slowly. One bulb at a time.

ya u should go with 1 actinic and one 67k or 10k instead of 50/50 the actinic and 67 or 10k could give u more par
