How do I Mix my salt

I am getting all of my RO water tom. and i already have enough salt so i was wondering if you can just dump the salt into the fish tank with a powerhead in my tank to circulate the water...or do i do it a different way

If this is a brand new set up, with nothing in it yet, you can do it that way. Otherwise you have to do it in a large container (like a rubbermaid trash can) used only for that purpose.

yes this is a brand new tank so that will be fine...thanks...and i also have another question........is it alright to put in like 30 to 40 pounds of base rock thats not live or is that bad and then just put like another 40 pounds of LR on top of it..to save money or what??

It is perfectly fine to put in your base rock and then add your live rock to the top of it.

That is fine, and a great way to save money. The LR will seed the base rock.

But what will the base rock look like and will it look bad with the combo of the LR

IDK, I don't have any base rock. I wish I had known about that when I started.

The base rock will eventually get covered in coralline though.
