How do I move an anemones

I want to move my bubble tip from a crack in a piece of LR. My clown just recently found it after a couple of weeks and is blowing all the substrate around to get closer to it. The problem is, he will never get closer to it because its wedged into this crack and hardly sticks out. How can I move it without harming it? I heard ice?

Very carefully. You cant tear their FOOT as that can be fatal. I have heard of people using a DULL butter knife to slowly scrape the foot up, or just by using your fingertips to do it. They have got some sticky feet, and this is not an easy task. The other thing you could do is direct your flow differently so the Anemone may not like its current spot and move on its own. How long has it been stationed there?

It has been there for a few weeks and shows no signs of moving. I can't even try to scrap it out because its wedged in a crack.

I think the flow idea is the best one then. Either too muchor too little right at it may be a good way. Taking apart the rocks too much to ask? They are tricky little buggers. Good luck, let us know what worked.

The flow thing might work but it will realy make a mess of the tank, blowing all the substrate around. I was hoping there was another way. Also if I put the flow on it I think its just going to close up and go further inside the crack. I'm so confused, and annoyed at the same time.
I am open for any suggestions or hints, I will def. try the flow some how though. Thanks

Heres another reason why I hate anemones. If you really want to move it and cant direct flow on it, your going to have to gently scrape it off the rock. A butter knife works pretty well lik 545 said...

If the live rock is small and can be removed without disturbing the tank and the anemone is large enough to be heavy, place the rock upsidedown out of the water for a while and the weight of it along with gravity will remove him from the LR.

I wish, it is a piece of large rock on the bottom of all the others. I would have to take my tank apart.

I moved my Pink Tip the other day. Wearing a latex glove I used my finger nail to slowly work up the foot and with my other hand slid a piece of plastic under the foot so it couldnt get a hold back on the rock.

i have a rock anemone and a sexy shrimp bonded to it and can barely see either one, usually. I also have the same problem is there no other way to get it out of the crack in the lr, could we shade it or something maybe? Would something like that work and if so what should we use?
